I was 10 times worse when I left than when I came in. I actually heard charge nurses "David" talking out loud about needing to discharge patients because their insurance companies aren't paying them, so they aren't being paid (the staff and "dr.s" that is") Staff repeatedly made jokes out loud about medications and mental illnesses. Oh and the so called psychiatrist were actually arnp's. One night they had someone with no medical schooling or training on medpass, doling out extremely powerful medications, including narcotic meds to the patients. I am going to make it my mission to expose this place for what it is, and have it closed down. DO NOT GO HERE FOR HELP! YOU WILL GET ANYTHING BUT! AND THAT IS JUST A FRACTION OF MY EXPERIENCE AT THIS "MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY!"

And the employees shuffled paperwork more than they watched what was going on with the patients. Everything was done with paper and pen! Here we are at the close of the 2nd decade of the 21st century and they're still doing things the way they were done last century!

No therapy, unless you consider coloring, board games, mindless T.V., and A.A. (brought in from the outside, if they show up) therapy. All there was to do was sleep, smoke, eat, smoke, snack, eat, smoke, snack, eat, watch T.V., sleep, repeat ad nauseum. The "schedule" is loosely, if at all, followed. The "doctor" will Baker Act you if you disagree with anything she says.

If I could give this place a negative score I would. Most mental health techs, nurses treat patients like animals , verbally abuse them. Dignity is stripped away from these patients and there is no therapy of any sort is available. The beds are made of straw, pillows are worse, and patients cannot bring in their own toiletries or anything else from home to help console them. Nurses are not knowledgable about meds given, side effects, that is IF a patient can even talk to a nurse to gt that information. I had to wait over an hour to get my toiletry "bin" in order to take a shower because they are locked up, and the techs are all too busy( talking among themselves or simply ignoring the patients) to care to unlock a door to provide those. Very poor training. Very poor staff, bottom of the barrel, except for a precious few. Sad, very sad. Even the psychiatrists are overworked. Paper bags are used for trash due to keeping insects out of the ward when in fact, paper bags attract cock roaches. The worst experience or my entire life. Just found out that to receive my own records would cost me $1.00 per page. How fair is that?

Wish I could give this place negative stars as well.

This place changed my life! I went in as an enabler and left as an enlightened, strong and determined mother. NTP saves my family by allowing me to see my weaknesses and strengths. HIGHLY recommended IF you truly want to be helped.

This place is a joke my sister was there for two weeks and then they said she was fine and fricking dandy but two days later count them two days later she is back in the hospital for depression and suicide and she threw her self on the floor and split her head open but this place said repeatedly she is frickin fine and dandy so I agree with the others I wouldn't take a all ready dead dog to this place and their reason for this.. HER INS WON'T PAY THE DAMM BILL SO SHE HAS TO GO

Medications were distributed at irregular times, no consistency whatsoever. I was off my medication for 2 1/2 days before the doctor prescribed me with new meds and had the gall to interview me at 8p to ask me how I was doing, I was livid!

The only saving grace were a handful of techs and a doctor. Dr. Tracy C., Techs Adrian, Kim, Bobbie, Sky, Precious (yes, her name really is Precious), and Jack, all went above and beyond to assist the patients with their stay. If it wasn't for them, and my wife constantly calling requesting updates on my care, I'd probably still be in there!

We were locked down with only a total of 1 hour of outside time daily, which consisted of a small courtyard with a 12' chain-link fence ensuring there was no way out. Most of the day we were corralled in a common room, our bedroom, or the group room. And we were herded to and fro the cafeteria, and the other wing for the A.A. meetings.
